Pastor Melvin Melton, Sr.
Pastor Melvin Melton is a native of Orlando, Florida. He was born to Dea. James and Geneva Melton. Rev. Melton was saved at an early age at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as an usher for several years.
Rev. Melton has a convert’s heart and has dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel message, leading the unsaved to Christ, and building up the Kingdom of God. His heart’s desire is knowing Christ in the fullness of His power and His resurrection. Rev. Melton has committed his life to be used by God, and to allow the Holy Spirit to use him to build the Kingdom of God through teaching, counseling, mentoring and making disciples for Christ.
Pastor Melton served as Salem West Cell Pastor and an Associate Minister of the Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Lilburn, Georgia under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Richard B. Haynes. As a Fellowship Cell Pastor, he assisted the Senior Pastor in coordinating and conducting monthly baptismal services, baby blessings, performed weddings, funerals, New Members Orientation Classes and any other capacity needed in the church. Rev. Melton has served for several years in the Nursing Home Ministry and ministered monthly the Word of God in the Fulton County Jail Ministry.
Rev. Melton graduated from Lyman High School (1979) in Longwood, Florida and Carson-Newman College (1984) in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Along with Biblical Studies at Mt. Moriah Biblical Institute in Tucker, Georgia, a student of the Salem School of Ministry and an instructor/student in the Salem School of the Word. God continues to call him to a higher level of service. Rev. Melton is employed through the Gwinnett County School System at Norcross High School, Chaplin of the Norcross Police Department and Chaplin for the City of Norcross in Norcross, Georgia. He is married to the former Lisa R. Stewart and they are the parents
of two beautiful children Melvin Jr., who is married to their beautiful daughter-in-law Veronica and their daughter Ashley, and grandparents to the beautiful Noelani.
